This week we report from the Multimedia and Digital Business Directory and explain why support for Adobe Flash is ending. The software will be unavailable for download from December 31, 2020 and Adobe will discontinue Flash content from running by January 12, 2021. For security reasons, Adobe recommends uninstalling Flash.
According to reports from the BBC, “The plug-in was never supported by Apple’s iOS mobile devices. Adobe’s vice president of product development, Govind Balakrishnan, said the firm had chosen to end Flash because other technologies, such as HTML5, had “matured enough and are capable enough to provide viable alternatives to the Flash player.” These alternatives include the capability to watch videos and play video games online.
